“LOVE”, New York Series 2016
Photograph (Color Pigment on Hahnemuhle German Etching)
This work explores the elements of chance and risk between artist and environment. Juxtaposing the hard lines of architecture with the soft curves of the body, it explores the historic interplay between the grey streets of New York and the bright contrasting "LOVE" statue. The pose is an appropriation of the famous New York kiss after World War II between a sailor and nurse- a famous expression of joy and love at the end of this struggle.
